Directions and addresses
Visitors who come by car can easily leave their cars at 2 main locations: the Groenoord Transferium and the Haagweg Car Park. There are free shuttle buses from these two car parks to the city. Visitors can also travel by boat.
During the months of April to October the watertaxi will take visitors from the Haagweg Car Park to the heart of Leiden's inner city. The watertaxi rides on request for the rest of the year. A trip on this luxury vessel costs only € 1.00 per person. Visitors can get off at one of three stops in the centre: Beestenmarkt, Aalmarkt and Botermarkt. The watertaxi will take visitors on request to the museums and restaurants, and also to the 'Poort van Leyden'.
The Groenoord Transferium
The Groenoord Transferium has some 350 quality parking spaces and an overflow capacity of 1000 parking spots in the neighbouring car park and garage. There are at least 40 places available for tourist coaches. Here there are also numerous facilities for drivers and coaches, such as shower facilities, septic tank disposal and flushing facilities, vacuum cleaner, electricity supply, battery charger and windshield service, a canteen, 24 hour surveillance, and a lot more. The Transferium is open 7 days a week. The parking charge for cars is € 5.00 a day and for coaches € 15.00.
The Haagweg Car Park
The Haagweg Car Park has some 1100 places. Coaches can park here as well, although the Groenoord Transferium is more suitable. The parking charge for cars is € 5.00 a day. The car park is open 7 days a week.
